About
Why GreyMatters Exists
GreyMatters was created in response to a growing pattern across organizations, leadership teams, education, and society.
People were becoming faster to judge and slower to understand.
Organizations were filled with intelligent people, yet still struggling with:
- poor decision-making
- reactive leadership
- shallow collaboration
- communication breakdowns
- stagnant thinking
- repeated organizational conflict
- resistance to new ideas
The founders realized these were not isolated organizational problems.
They were symptoms of something deeper: a decline in Intellectual Curiosity.
GreyMatters was created to help change that.

Our Team
The People Behind GreyMatters
Anne Constantino, M.Ed, CFRE
Co-Founder
Anne Constantino has dedicated more than 25 years to helping organizations and leaders unlock their full potential through transformational leadership, strategic fundraising, and meaningful relationship building. Throughout her career in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and organizational development, she has guided mission-driven organizations through growth and change, secured millions of dollars in philanthropic support, built high-performing teams, and developed strategies that strengthen organizations from the inside out. Drawing on her expertise in executive leadership coaching, fundraising strategy, and workforce engagement, Anne helps leaders translate vision into action while creating environments where people and organizations can thrive.
Through her work with organizations of all sizes, Anne has observed that lasting success is not driven by talent alone, but by a leader's willingness to embrace self-awareness, intellectual curiosity, and continuous growth. She believes meaningful change happens when leaders move beyond transactional approaches and foster authentic relationships grounded in shared purpose. Through her consulting, coaching, and facilitation, Anne empowers leaders to think differently, lead confidently, and create lasting impact within their organizations and communities.
Joel Vaslow, PhD
Co-Founder
Joel's career has spanned numerous industries, both large public companies and small privately-held companies, and a wide variety of leadership roles. Joel's corporate career culminated in running day-to-day operations for two successive privately-held companies. In both cases, he successfully translated vision into structured, growth-focused operations. Joel capped off his corporate journey by navigating the lucrative sale of what had previously been a family-owned lifestyle business. Joel holds a B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis as well as an M.S. and a Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Through his experience serving both for-profit and non-profit organizations, Joel has noticed deficits in the critical thinking skills of leaders and frontline employees. In both work and non-work settings, Joel has been disappointed by people's inability and unwillingness to engage in informed debate with each other. Joel believes we can create stronger local communities and a stronger society overall by unlocking the power of intellectual curiosity for problem-solving, interpersonal communication, and personal growth.
